This product has been great. If I leave my coffee in it in the morning, when I come home in the afternoon it is still hot. I like it because my coffee stays fresh, it saves on electricity, and I can keep it handily on my kitchen table or counter. One thing I can think of to improve the product is where it says open and closed on the top of the carafe, it would be helpful if when it was closed, the word “closed” was written on red. This would make it easy to remember to keep it closed. The inside of the carafe is glass, and I would buy another in a heartbeat.

Unlike most of the buyers of this carafe, I found it to be a serious disappointment, thanks to a major design flaw. The open-and-close mechanism is a dud. After pushing the handle knob to “open,” what I get from the spout is little more than a trickle. Returning any product costing less than $25 is such a hassle that I’ll just toss it and eventually buy another one, but a more expensive one from another manufacturer — and keep my fingers crossed.

Stanley 1. 0L ErgoServ Carafe and Thermos Nissan 34 Ounce Stainless Steel Carafe are both better options: They are dishwasher safe and more rugged (steel not glass), they are more expensive but worth it.
I don’t use the Zojirushi anymore because it’s hard to clean and I can’t throw in dishwasher.
I still gave it 4 starts because it works fine.

***I NEEDED SOMETHING FOR WORK FOR WHEN I MAKE FLAVOURED COFFEE IN THE COFFEE ROOM. . . “COFFEE BANDITS” WOULD TAKE THE COFFEE BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO GRAB A CUP. . . . LOL. . . . WE HAVE A “COFFEE*CLUB” SO A FEW OF US TAKE TURNS BRINGING IN DIFFERENT COFFEES TO MAKE. . . THIS CARAFE SO FAR KEEPS THE COFFEE HOT SO AS WHEN THE COFFEE CLUB PEOPLE ARE READY TO GRAB A CUP, ITS RIGHT THERE ON MY DESK FOR THEM. . . WE LOVE THE OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON. . . A GOOD SAFETY FEATURE. . . I POUR ONE CUP. . . AND THE REST FITS IN THE CARAFE. . . LOVE IT!
