Zojirushi NHS-06 3-Cup Rice Cooker

When I ordered the Zojirushi NHS-06 rice cooker, I expected it to keep the rice warm after it was cooked. Unfortunately, while other models have this prime feature and this one implied it did, the NHS-06 does not. I called Customer Service and arranged to return it in August. I had an E-mail saying you had received the cooker and were crediting my account $42. 64. Please confirm. I expect to order another item in the near future. Thank you. S. Thackeray

This was my first rice cooker after failing in the kitchen making it by the directions on the bag. This cooker is a good starter product for the occasional user. I was hoping it had a warmer but I really dont eat rice all day so It worked out good for me.

I paid about $50. 00 at an Asian market in San Diego (99 Market) . Iwas looking for the cheep Sanyo, but the Zojirushi was the only small one they had. No one could spoke
English. . so I bought this one. . . .
It is easy to clean, works fine. I got 3 cups of rice in about 20 minutes. It shuts off with a click that I heard in the next room. The directions say to let it sit with lid on for 15-20 minutes to let the rice get more flavorful. Actually ,it was still very hot and I don’t see the need to have a “stay warm” feature. I like that it’s small and simple. . perfect for me and my wife. . . . .
Its like when I was dating. . . perky and cheep is better then expensive and depressing. . . . . . . Eddie

I just cooked my first pot of brown rice in my new 3-cup Zojirushi and it came out perfectly. So perfectly that I forgot I was eating brown rice. This rice cooker is very basic and simple to use and I anticipate using it several times a week.
Yes, there are other rice cookers with lots of bells and whistles but if you are cooking rice just a few times a week for one or two people (light eaters), this cooker should do the trick.
Yes, the spout does create a small amount of spurt but it’s not a big deal to clean that up. . . and much better than the spill over burnt pot you can often get while cooking rice on a stove top.

I bought this for my parents. They eat rice every day and this rice cooker holds up to the frequent use.
