I bought this item based on the outstanding reviews I found on this site. Only to receive the item and read the owners manual to discover it does NOT work at high altitudes (over 5000 feet). I called customer service to have this fact confirmed twice. So if you live above 5000′ don’t bother to buy it. It will NOT shut off and WILL start fires. I got to pay shipping both directions. What a waste!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great pot. I’m annoyed at having to press the “unlock” button everytime, the one that prevents accidental spills. the automated dispensing is too slow for my tastes, I’m used to an earlier version that you have to press down from the top. in hindsight I should have bought an earlier version to avoid the differences
I’m also really annoyed at the shipping, bought through amazon, it was shipped in the box that the manufacturer put it in, which wasn’t up for the rigors of shipping. but honestly I can’t tell if the gaping crowbar-looking inflicted holes were caused by the shipping or not

I purchased some of my beautiful herbal medicinal teas from my favorite herbal remedy shop [. . . ]
( be SURE to get their Skinny Mini tea-I lost 18 pounds and now have ZERO cellulite! ) and they recommended this product-it works great although the boil time is a bit slow. It also looks great on my counter and I love that the water is ready for me all day. . highly recommend this product!

I have been drinking tea in the loose leaf variety for about a year now. I had been using an electric tea kettle with satisfactory results for the last 18 months. I really like this hot water dispenser. Sometimes I have tried making green or white tea with my eletric tea kettle to sometimes have bad results because the water was too hot. This comes with three different temperature settings. I have used this to make instant soup, instant oatmeal, and tea.
This is very easy to use, and keeps water warm all day. I like that it holds 4 quarts. When I have guests over for tea, my old tea kettle’s size was a limiting factor in how long it took to serve hot tea. This reservior is large, and should accomodate many people in one sitting. I like that this has a lock feature on it so you can’t accidently dispense hot water.
I am so happy with my purchase and wished I had made it sooner. Easy to use, easy to clean, and keeps hot water all day, what more could you ask for?

This is our second electric dispensing pot by Zojirushi. The first one developed a leak after about 9 years of heavy use. We bought it originally when my daughter was born for making formula and what not. Then as the years passed it was used mostly for making cups of tea and instant noodles. Very convenient! It developed a leak towards the end of its life so we decided to invest in a new Zojirushi. I think a 9 year life span for a product like this is amazing.
