Sanyo ECJ-S35K 3-1/2-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker/Warmer with Bread-Baking Function, Black

Pros: Small footprint, proper capacity for two people, quick cooking function for those times where you’re in a hurry.
Cons:
It does not store rice for more than 8-12 hours without the rice getting yellowed. We had a huge, ancient, dented, simple Zojirushi before getting the Sanyo that could hold the rice for at least two days before it yellowed. With the Sanyo, you’d better refrigerate any leftovers immediately.
After a year, the Sanyo fails to work. The last pot was a horrific rice paste with dry grains on the surface.
Overall:
It has a lot of software bells and whistles that do not help it make proper rice and apparently detract from that core ability. But hey, I like to use it to make rice on a daily basis, so if you want to use it to cook frozen bread dough or non-sticky rice with olive oil, go ahead and buy into the reviews here.

I just bought this a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve tried cooking jasmine rice two times. Both times, the rice came out pasty and unpleasant. What’s wrong here? If I’m doing something wrong, I’d appreciate the advice and I’ll update my rating if that is possible.

I love this rice cooker. It really does make the best rice I have ever had. I make white rice mostly, and it always comes out all fluffy and perfectly moist. The pot’s thickness is really surprising, feels like a cast-iron pot covered in titanium! (yes, the non-stick coating is some mix of titanium instead of teflon)

Originally purchased the Cuisinart Rice cooker/steamer and did not like the results. Bought this one on a friends recommendation and am very pleased. Rice comes out great, quality feels top notch.
